am Language Studio の一般英語コースは英語をバランス良く学ぶことを目的とし、さらにマンツーマンやミニグループレッスンを組み合わせたり、豊富な各種選択科目を組み合わせることができたり、さらに英語教師トレーニングプログラムやインターンシッププログラム等、バリエーションに富んだコースが設けられているのが特徴です。
かなりしっかり勉強できる General English am Language Studio の一般英語コースは英語をバランス良く学ぶことを目的とし、文法、語彙、会話、発音などの各スキルを効果的に学ぶプログラムです。英語学習のインプットだけでなく英語が自然と身に付くようアウトプットを意識した内容となっています。
Intensive English では午後にビジネス英語や試験対策などの専門コースを追加でき、Mini Group を選ぶと午後に最大 6 名までの少人数でのレッスンを追加することができます。Combination English コースでは午前中の 20 レッスンに加え、午後にマンツーマンレッスンを 5 コマないし 10 コマ組み合わせることができます。

英語でのミーティング、電話・メール対応、交渉、プレゼンテーションなど、実際のビジネスの現場を想定した英語スキルを学びます。20 レッスンと 30 レッスンから選択できます。
集中的に密度の濃い学習に取り組める English for Exam Preparation
With the world fast becoming a smaller place, it is now more common for non-native English speakers to attend an English-speaking university or to migrate to an English-speaking country. Students interested in sitting for an internationally recognized examination can take an Examination Preparation Course with am Language Studio covering the major examinations; the Cambridge Examination Courses plus IELTS, TOEFL, TOLES and WEFT.
These courses are available all year round as Combination Courses. Other courses are subject to availability.
Courses can be booked for any number of weeks, depending on the examination and the needs and level of the applicant. Spread over 20/25/30 sessions a week, each session being 45 minutes long, participants focus on grammar awareness and use of language. They develop their four skills of reading, listening, writing and speaking and also concentrate on more specific examination subject requirements.
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
An American examination. TOEFL scores are required for purposes of admission by more than 2,400 colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. In Europe, TOEFL is also used by institutions where English is the language of instruction. Many government agencies, scholarship programmes, and licensing/certification agencies use TOEFL scores to evaluate English proficiency.
TOLES (Test of Legal English Skills)
The TOLES examinations were developed to meet the demand from law firms, companies, legal institutions, lawyers and law students for an accurate method of assessing an individual’s proficiency of legal English. TOLES has been developed by legal professionals with expertise in English language training. It is the result of extensive consultation with law firms and institutions and is regularly revised to reflect the on-going changes that occur within the legal profession.
WEFT (Written English for Tourism)
Set by LCCI (London Chamber of Commerce Institute), WEFT tests a candidate’s skills to communicate effectively in English at customer liaison level for the hospitality, travel and tourism industries. It examines a student’s ability to work effectively at a professional level, using spoken and written business communication conducted in English.
FCE (First Certificate in English)
FCE is at Level 3 in the Cambridge five level system. This course has widespread recognition in commerce and industry such as public or secretarial work in banking, airlines, catering and hospitality. It is also recognized by some university faculties, colleges and other educational institutions as fulfilling English language requirements.
CAE (Certification in Advanced English)
CAE is at Level 4 in the Cambridge five level system. This course indicates a high level of language competence for candidates wishing to use English for professional or study purposes. It is recognised by the majority of British universities and higher education institutions as fulfilling entrance requirements in English language.
CPE (Certification of Proficiency in English)
CPE is at Level 5 in the Cambridge five level system. This course indicates an advanced level of competence which is recognised as fulfilling entrance requirements in English language to British universities and many universities in other English-speaking countries, and by other institutions of higher education and professional bodies worldwide. In a number of countries the CPE provides exemption from local English language requirements or is a qualification for admission to courses or employment where a thorough knowledge of English is required.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
IELTS is administered jointly by The British Council, IDP Education Australia and the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate. It is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who need to study or work wherever English is used as the language of communication. It covers all four language skills at nine levels from non-user to expert user. IELTS scores are widely accepted by educational institutions, can be used as entry to training courses and are recognised by other services and businesses such as immigration and recruitment. This course can be taken as General English or Intensive English.
BEC (Business English Certificate)
BEC is offered at two levels, Vantage and Higher. BEC examinations are ideal for students who are preparing for a career in business. An internationally recognised business qualification can help them show that they have learned English to an appropriate standard and can use it in a professional context. The course covers all aspects of Business English with a focus on exam preparation for the BEC Cambridge exams. It includes writing reports, speaking on the phone, presenting in English and using formal vocabulary. The course is designed to give students all they need to interact through English in a business work environment and so open up job opportunities.
